Immediately walking in, the place has an inviting Mediterranean feel. We got seated at a table for two, half booth and ordered a cocktail. We ordered the Mikanos Sunrise and Mardini. The Mikanos had a powerful absynthe-anise taste, but it worked with the other ingredients. The Mardini had gin, pomegranate, and lemon, and all I got was sour lemon. It was really bad and we sent it back. Our server was super nice about it, but the bartender tried to argue with him about it. I got the Epivates instead and it tasted only of absynthe. I didn’t send it back, but ordered wine, which was better. If you’re in to cocktails, don’t order them here. They lacked balance and creativity. Go to Oak and Rye for the best cocktails in town. For starters, we got a decent salad with beets and tzatziki with pita which were both fine, but nothing we haven’t had better elsewhere. For dinner we had the gigantes and lamb. The gigantes beans were lacking any flavor and the lamb was pretty good, but not amazing, also lacking in seasoning. Evvia in Palo Alto has very similar dishes but they are all phenomenal, so we had a high bar for Opelia. Our server was so wonderful and the ambiance is lovely and that’s what gives this place a 4 star for me.

first time at opelia. my friend and I enjoyed the refreshing cocktails, great service and good food. we shared the roasted cauliflower, taziki and pita (the bread was soft and warm) and the chicken thigh/risotto dish. everything was tasty and the portions were generous. the only knock on the place was how loud it got during dinner...it's a small place so I guess that can be expected? also it was hard reading the menu...the font type and description of the dishes made it difficult. not a big deal, but we both made a comment about it. I look forward to visiting opelia again soon. it was really quite delish!!

What a gem in Los Gatos! We have been waiting for this place to open and walked in tonight for dinner. The staff is so wonderful and took care of us so great. Their appetizers are to die for, their eggplant, octopus and everything else were delicious! The fish was greatly done, it had been a while we had such great fish. We will definitely be back soon.

The place recently opened. The interior is warm, cozy, and classy all at once. You’ll find a rich variety of Mediterranean dishes on the menu. We started with the Brussels sprouts, followed by the Firenze salad, which included strawberries, dates, and arugula leaves. For our entrée, we had the Icnik (lamb shank), which was incredibly tender and delicious, served with a side of barley that had a pleasant, whey-like sourness. The cherry on top of our dinner was the Ekmek Kadayifi with ice cream—a true masterpiece. The cream inside the toasted bread was rich, buttery, and perfectly sweetened. Our server, Karina, was very polite and friendly, and we trusted her food suggestions completely.

Wow! What a gem in Los Gatos-- stopped in for lunch. We had the chicken kebab which was delicious and not dry at all. Service and atmosphere were wonderful. I definitely will go back for dinner. Wine list is extensive so excited to check it out.

Pleasant atmosphere indoors and outdoor. Attentive server. Good selection of food options. Chicken skewer was good. Cons: food was just ok, as it didn’t taste yummy: cauliflower appetizer was tasteless, beef souvlaki was just a braised beef with tomato sauce and one blub of plain yogurt on top with no specific spice or taste!

Great food, great decor and ambiance. However, the owner needs to recognize that he is playing his music WAY TOO LOUD!. When your place is small, and you play your music too loud, then all your diners are going to have to raise their voices and suddenly it's so loud that the experience can be unpleasant. Secondly, I would have asked to be seated outside for a more pleasant experience as the place had many tables available, however, they only had one space heater for the entire outdoor seating. That didn't make sense to me because they were packed/full inside, and more tables could have been booked for a cozy experience outside. Invest in space heaters, you will fill the tables.

Recently opened and a great addition to Los Gatos! Nice vibe and solid service, a little green but will get better with time. We started with the Meze platter, delicious, nice variety. Had the sea bass, perfectly cooked and the lamb chops also very good. Both dishes served on a bed of roasted veggies. Friend had the Moussaka which they enjoyed, I did not try it, should have, lol. A little dark, I’m old, I hate mood lighting, just wanna be able to see my food without strategically moving the table lamp around! That’s my biggest quibble which will not stop me from going back! Did not have dessert, maybe next time.
